WIPFW is a firewall for Windows based on IPFW for FreeBSD unix and it provides virtually the same features, functionality and user interface. Please note when downloading WIPFW remember to get the "GUI frontend" as well - unless you are professional enough to work with WIPFW using only the command-line interface.
Both packet filtering and ip accounting which are standard firewall features that WIPFW includes. Packet filtering makes sure that unwanted internet traffic does not reach your computer. And ip accounting allows you to create rules that will track and report e.g. all web usage. WIPFW includes stateful operation that makes sure that special traffic that might use dynamic ports are not blocked - so that all of your internet software will run undisturbed.
