SuperTux is Antarctica's answer to Super Mario Bros., a lively game that you can download at no charge and play on your computer. You can use a joystick or the keyboard to control Tux, a penguin whose girlfriend has been kidnapped and spirited away to a distance ice fortress.
As Tux, you will battle nine different enemies, including walking ice cubes and animated snowballs. You'll get help, however, when you hit blocks that yield coins or power-ups. The power-ups come in egg form, looking deceptively like deadly snowballs. The first one you'll encounter will double your size. If you can stay big the second egg will turn Tux orange and give him the power to shoot fireballs at his enemies. Otherwise, jumping over them is the best strategy; jumping atop them will make you small again.
You'll also find magic stars that give you invincibility, a good thing to have when you need to shove your way through mindless ice blocks in small spaces. Watch out for SkyDive bad guys and owls that sneak up on you from above!
SuperTux gives you 26 main worlds and two bonus islands to fight your way through. The graphics are colorful, the resolution is crisp and the action is fast. Best of all, you can make your own levels using the level editor and share them with your friends.
SuperTux is a fun game with which to kill a few hours. You can also get very creative making your own levels!
