Rating and comments for VirtualBox

Average score 3.24 (based on 59 votes)

given by Tristan Rhodes on January 25, 2007

This is a great replacement for VMware Workstation, and it is open source!

Preliminary review this is a good product. I run VMWARE and this looks very similar. It has a small foot print and runs like lighting. Easy and quick install and setup. As soon as I see if its stable I will know if I will keep it or not.

It is not kind to the program and the readers to rate VirtualBox 1 star without give any reason.

I agree with Felipe and would like to suggest to disallow feedback posts without any test inside. After all, comments are supposed to be useful beyond some point-rating...

Very fast, very user friendly.

Have instated it using Vista Ultimate as the host and XP Pro as the guest. Works wonderfully. I did the tweak to make the Box full screen. All my hardware works perfectly.

works on win xp as host

Just a great piece of software

host Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit
guest vista business
installed 2* faster than vmserver vs 1.04

i've used vmware Server for over 2 years with XP Pro as guest for development purposes

virtual box offers more features than vmserver (seamless integration)

I now use this software instead of VMWare Workstation and will not look back. It does all that I need from a virtualization software. Install guest OSes fast, runs them fast too.

VB is good. I prefer VMware though. I was using VMware before VB, and I guess I'm just used to it. Nothing "wrong" with it as far as I can see.

Used it on a Mac for an Oracle test environment. Great little piece of software. I wasn't able to test all of the features (the reason for 4-star vs. 5) due to corp security settings. But it's great for what it's designed for, with LOTS of available features.
